Hailing from Washington, D.C, Elikeh’s music is often classified as Afropop, as it draws on the musical influence of the West Coast of Africa, blending Togolese rhythms and global themes with rock, funk, as well as jazz to create a danceable sound that is completely their own. “Although based in …indigenous traditions, Elikeh’s music has no borders, exploring global themes and personal odysseys.”

The group’s leader, Massama Dogo, was born in Togo and developed his singing and songwriting ability performing with several local bands. He also acted as musical director of the University band in Togo.

The band released Adje! Adje! in 2010. The band considered that album as their very first even though Massama Dogo put out the album Nyade in 2007 under the name Elikeh. In 2012 the band released Between 2 Worlds featuring the Malian guitarist, Vieux Farka Toure and John Kadlecik, lead Guitarist of Furthur, and Dark Star Orchestra.

Edy Blu
An enchanting singer and poetic song-writer, Edy Blu easily and literally dances between genres of reggae, jazz, rock and ev...en folk. Reminiscent of Sade, Adele, and Erykah Badu, Edy Blu is still an authentic creation. Edy is a Virginia native, born and raised on a farm in the Shenandoah Valley. The back-drop of mountains and woods only fueled Edy’s free-spirited tendencies. A country girl with an urban edge, Edy now resides in Washington, DC.
