Elikeh uses elements of Togolese rhythms (West African rhythms) as a foundation for exploration into American-influenced blues, funk and rock to produce captivating Afro-pop tunes. Although based in indigenous traditions, Elikeh’s music explores global themes and personal odysseys.
Elikeh won the Wammie for Best World Music Album in 2012. The band was also nominated for 6 other Wammies, including Album Of The Year, Artist Of The Year, and for the Independent Music Award (Best world Beat Album) the same year.
“Elikeh always gets the crowd moving with its enthusiastic shows.”- The Washington Post
