DC shoegaze darlings Prisms formed in 2007 as an epic supergroup, created by a collective of friends that at the time were in various other musical projects and who wanted to push themselves to explore something totally new.
The resulting Prisms sound, crafted over three studio albums, is a swirling, deep, distinct work of shoegazy dreampop. With a wide range of influences from the guitar-glittered shores of My Bloody Valentine, to the clean crunch of Mew, to the emotion and power of The Appleseed Cast, Prisms continues to explore and expand their sound.
Prisms’ latest album, Noise, is their most exploratory and focused sound to date. Working with Richmond’s Will Beasley, over a year of work went into creating a strong group of seven songs that represents both where Prisms is now and where it is going in this future.
Modern Color are a 4-piece, post-hardcore rockers from Redondo Beach, CA, combining elements from punk to shoegaze to create an aggressive and melodic sound that is both intense and unique.
Since the band’s inception, Salt Lake City’s No Sun have been quietly crafting loud, confident, and modern shoegaze for those who can appreciate the most voluminous and dreamy aspects of the genre.
