Ruse de Guerre is a rock band from Reston, Virginia. They played their first show in July of 2015, opening for hometown heroes RDGLDGRN. Less than two weeks later, Ruse de Guerre played their first ever headlining show at Jammin’ Java & sold out the venue. They spent the following months playing around the DC and Richmond metropolitan areas, ending the year with another RDGLDGRN show & then headlining the legendary Black Cat.

Their debut EP, “Empire”, was recorded entirely analog at the historic Inner Ear Studio with legendary producer Don Zientara (Bad Brains, Minor Threat, Fugazi, Foo Fighters, John Frusciante). It is now available on digital music platforms everywhere & physical CD.

In 2016, Ruse de Guerre went on their first east coast tour, coming home to organize an Anti-Trump Concert/Community Arts Festival. The event was to showcase the talents of local musicians and visual artists, while fundraising for DC’s homelessness charity SOME (So Others Might Eat) and administering voter registration. Less than 24 hours before the event, Fairfax County illegally nullified the permit due to violent threats from Trump supporters, with the county ultimately referring to Ruse de Guerre as a “public safety concern”.

Ruse would go on another east coast tour in early 2017, as well as begin working on their debut album at WrightWay Studios in Baltimore with studio engineer, Drew Lamond (Jay-Z, Slipknot, Drowning Pool, Mos Def, MIA, Avril Lavigne). It is is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2018.
